Askari Game Lodge – Wedding Venue with Stunning Diversity

Driving into Askari, there is a sense of great anticipation as the count down in kilometres starts to your destinations as you wind your way through the conservation park to the lodge.

After spotting magnificent male kudu’s, zebra and wildebeest along the way the city fades into a distant memory, along with your stresses and worries, leaving you free to soak up the African bush’s lullaby.

Askari Lodge is a unique combination of historical relics, bush and African Baroque that holds new surprises around every corner. The accommodation is a reflection of their surroundings with beautiful vintage patterned linen complimented with exquisite wooden cabinets you wish you could take home. But my personal favourite was the deep claw foot bath that invites you to a late night soak.

Askari offers guests guided bush walks, late afternoon or early morning bush drives or for something life changing an Elephant interaction. But if these are not for you then maybe the fabulous spa with spark your interest. If history fascinates you then take your time and wondering through the biggest private collection of wooden oxen wagons and the heritage museum.

If you are a foodie you will not be disappointed with an extensive and well-designed menu your taste buds are in for a treat each dish is a combination of flavour fireworks, the lodge boasts a well versed wine list compiled in conjunction with Zorgvliet wines.

Brides looking for a venue that will offer some amazing photo’s reflecting your unique experiences with elephants, bush, gardens and the vintage element. A place for weekend away weddings, where guests as well as yourselves can remain relaxed at all times in the hands of very professional and knowledgeable staff. This is the venue is the one you have been searching for.

Galagos Country Estate

Nestled in a lush green forest, Galagos will most certainly add magic and wonder to any occasion! Galagos event options are as unlimited as your imagination.

Galagos in my opinion is a fantasy venue in that it has so many elements of surprise and magic which is reflected in the design and detail of the venue. Yet it is a classy sophisticated venue that caters to all the needs of wedding couples. They boast some of the most helpful and knowledge staff who will assist you with any of your requests. Galagos offers a forest ceremony or chapel, with an opulent reception venue, which has a knight in shining armour in the ladies restroom (every lady needs one of those). The best part in my opinion is the bonfire that is lit at midnight where the celebration can continue till the wee hours of the morning with the in-house DJ entertaining your guests.

But see for yourselves.

Engedi – The Oasis in the Cradle

As the original Hebrew name suggests, EnGedi literally is an oasis. Tucked away in The Cradle of Humankind, this multi-purpose venue is focused on providing an oasis experience just for you.

A commanding banqueting hall with the ability to cater for any sized occasion from small, intimate weddings to weddings reaching 500 attendees. Banqueting rooms are suitable for any sized function, from 10 – 300 including a dance floor. EnGedi has the ability to adapt this beautiful venue to suit any theme or function required by you.

A winding stoned-tiled pathway across the lawn leads to an impressive pergola, which is a perfect chapel for those wanting an outside ceremony surrounded by lush green gardens, exquisite flowers and shrubs.

An additional feature of the bridal suite is a lounge area dedicated and designed specifically for the bridal entourages’ pre-ceremony preparation. A sumptuous bath in the centre of the room set against a triangular designed mirrored wall allows a bride to bathe and relax in absolute opulence before preparing for her wedding day. A hair-washing basin forms part of the room as well as a hairdressing and make-up station. A full length pillar-walled mirror will show off the beautiful bride from head-to-toe.

Thaba Ya Batswana Hotel & Spa – Unique Wedding Venue

This is a unique venue that I was introduced to on the weekend, it’s unique and special a place where African Dreams come true!

The Thaba Ya Batswana Eco Hotel & Spa is a rare and valuable jewel, surrounded by the Southern Johannesburg metropolis, which captures the spirit of the African renaissance. It is situated in the Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve area and has an abundance of indigenous trees, plants, birds and wildlife.

The Tswana name meaning “Mountain of the Tswana People” is an apt description due to the discovery of Tswana settlement ruins that date back 300 and 600 years.  The historic remnants of the Tswana people are scattered throughout the eco Hotel where visitors are able to observe it from many of the paths and trails.

At Thaba Ya Batswana we are passionate about professional service-oriented hospitality. This along with our beautiful facilities and breathtaking natural surroundings ensure that Thaba Ya Batswana is the venue of choice for both the corporate and leisure markets.

Thaba Ya Batswana Eco Hotel & Spa offers an idyllic setting in contemporary African style that will make your special day unique and unforgettable. The delightful on site church is the perfect place for your sacred wedding vows to be concluded in a romantic atmosphere with breathtaking views.

There are two beautiful banquet halls to choose from. Tswana Kraal is the ideal venue for an intimate wedding for up to 100 guests and our famous Lobola Kraal with its original Rhodesian Teak wooden floor and rustic chandeliers is the perfect setting for a fairy tale wedding and can accommodate up to 500 guests.

Located in a breathtaking nature reserve combined with the unique and stylish architecture of Thaba Ya Batswana makes for a beautiful backdrop for your wedding album.

Our team of professional wedding coordinators will take care of everything in the finest detail to ensure that you can fully enjoy every moment of your dream wedding.
